Having trouble signing in or verifying your email? These are the most common causes and fixes.
Verification email not arriving
Check your spam or junk folder.
Confirm you signed up with the correct email address.
Wait a few minutes, then request a new verification email.
Your sign-in code didn't arrive
When you sign in from a browser you haven't trusted, we email you a six-digit sign-in code. If it doesn't come through:
Check your spam or junk folder, and wait a minute or two.
Choose Send a new code to have a fresh one emailed.
Make sure you're checking the inbox for the email address on your account.
The code expired or sign-in took too long
A sign-in code is valid for 10 minutes, and a sign-in has to be finished within that window. If it lapses, choose Send a new code, or enter your password again to start over.
"Temporarily locked"
After several incorrect codes, sign-in locks for about 15 minutes as a safety measure. Nobody has gained access to your account, and there's nothing you need to do — just wait and try again a little later.
Signing in with a passkey didn't work
If a passkey won't sign you in, you can always fall back to your email and password (we'll then email you a sign-in code). You can review or remove passkeys, and add new ones, from your Profile settings — see Two-step sign-in, passkeys and trusted browsers.
Can't sign in with your password
Double-check your email and password (watch for caps lock).
If you've forgotten your password, reset it — see Resetting your password.
Make sure your email is verified; you must confirm it before signing in.
Invitation issues
If you're joining a firm and the invitation won't accept, make sure you're signed in with the same email address the invite was sent to. An invitation sent to a different address can't be accepted while signed in as someone else — sign out and use the invited email. Invitations can also expire, in which case ask for a fresh one.
