Adding notes to a case

Keep internal notes alongside a matter.

Written by Jason

Notes are a simple way to capture context on a matter — strategy, instructions, a call summary, or anything your team should know.

Add a note

  1. Open the case and go to the Notes tab.

  2. Write your note and save it.

  3. It's stored with the case and visible to your team.

Delete a note

  1. On the Notes tab, find the note you want to remove.

  2. Select the Delete note (trash) button on the note.

  3. Confirm when asked. Deleting a note can't be undone.

Any member of your firm can delete a note. AI-generated notes can be deleted too — removing one un-pins it from the case but leaves the linked conversation reachable from the AI Chat sidebar.

Good to know

  • Notes are for your firm's internal use and are not shown to clients in the Client Portal.

  • Your most recent note appears in the Latest Note column on the Cases list — where you can sort by it — and is included in the cases CSV export, so you can scan context without opening each case.

  • Use tasks instead when something needs to be done by a certain date — see Managing tasks.
