Using Gaveli on your phone

Get around Gaveli on a phone with the bottom tab bar and the More menu.

Written by Jason

Gaveli works right in your phone's browser — there's no separate app to install. Open Gaveli the same way you do on a computer and sign in, and the layout automatically adapts to a smaller screen so the everyday things you do most are always a tap away.

The bottom tab bar

On a phone, the sidebar is replaced by a bottom tab bar that stays visible wherever you are. It has five tabs:

  • Home — your dashboard, with today's snapshot of cases, hearings and tasks.

  • Cases — your full case list, where you can search, open a case, or add a new one.

  • AI Chat — the Gaveli AI assistant, ready to answer questions about your cases and documents.

  • Cause List — opens Upcoming Cases, so you can quickly see what's listed for today and tomorrow.

  • More — opens the More menu with everything else (see below).

The More menu

Tap More to open a menu that mirrors the rest of the app. From here you can:

  • Switch firms — if you belong to more than one firm, change the one you're working in at the top of the menu.

  • Workspace — jump to Add Case, Calendar, Tasks, High Court Cause List, and Alerts (with a badge showing unread alerts).

  • Insights & files — open Reports, Analytics, Documents, and Invoices.

  • Settings, Client Portal, Support, and Sign out.

  • Switch between light and dark mode and change your language.

Some items in the More menu depend on your role — for example, billing-related pages only appear for members who have access to them. If you don't see something you expect, ask a firm owner or admin to check your role.

Search and alerts

At the top of the screen you'll still find search and Alerts, so you can look up a case or check what needs your attention without opening the menu.

Good to know

  • Everything you can do on a computer you can also do on your phone — the mobile layout simply rearranges the same features to fit a smaller screen.

  • To get back to a full-width layout with the sidebar, open Gaveli on a tablet or computer, or turn your device to a wider view.
