When you use Gaveli's AI assistant for legal research, you can attach a clear record that the work was AI-assisted — and exactly what Gaveli checked — to whatever you file or share. It's built for situations where you need to disclose AI use, such as in pleadings or evidence.
The 'AI-assisted' badge
Research answers from the assistant carry a small AI-assisted badge. It's an at-a-glance signal that the answer was prepared with AI — both for you and for anyone you share it with.
Exporting an answer
Underneath a research answer, open the Export menu. You'll see three options:
Download PDF — the research answer as a branded PDF, the same document you've always been able to download.
Download verification summary (PDF) — the answer plus an 'AI-Assisted Content — Verification Summary' appendix. This is the certificate you attach when you need to show what was AI-assisted and what was verified.
Copy verification summary (Markdown) — copies the same verification summary as plain text, ready to paste into a brief, an email, or a note.
What's in the verification summary
The verification summary is a plain-language record drawn from the checks Gaveli already runs on every research answer. It includes:
A disclosure statement — that the content was prepared with AI assistance, is not legal advice, and should be verified before you rely on it.
Citation verification — how many citations were checked against court records and case-law search, and any references that could not be verified and need a manual check.
Faithfulness review — whether an automated review found the answer supported by the records it drew on, or flagged claims for you to double-check.
Research steps — the steps the assistant took to put the answer together.
Sources — the documents and references cited, plus the date the answer was generated.
If you export a quick answer that didn't go through these checks, the summary says so plainly — that the content was not independently verified — so the record is always honest.
Set a firm-wide default (admins)
Admins can have the disclosure notice added to every research PDF automatically. Go to Settings → AI Features and turn on AI-use disclosure on exports. When it's on, research downloaded as a PDF carries a short notice that it was prepared with AI assistance. The verification summary always includes this notice, regardless of the setting.
Good to know
The verification summary is a record of the checks Gaveli ran — not legal advice, and not a guarantee. Always verify every citation, section, and date against an authoritative source before relying on it in any filing.
The PDF and Markdown are generated on your own device and downloaded directly — nothing extra is uploaded or shared.
